I know this song is SO improper for the message that I plan on presenting. However, I wanted to throw people off. I like pulling antics like this. Thus, this is exactly what I am going to do: throw people off.
Now that I have your attention, let me get into the important issue.
Communication is important in any situation. You communicate to share information, thoughts, and feelings. Also, you communicate to do something even deeper: to make a connection. Without communication, there can be no connection. I do not care if it is verbal or body language, communication is key.
Thus, you all will see the madness with the issue I was presented with.
So I broke up with my boyfriend because he said he “doesn’t want to work on communication with me”. He said he has been trying and opening up to me. This is true, but when I want to talk about things he doesn’t want to. He feels I don’t see his efforts so there’s no use to continue to try at something I don’t recognize but I do. He even noted that he wants the relationship more than I do.
I am confused. Can you help?
Yeah, I can help. Your boyfriend is full of something: excuses, bull, or hot air.
It is time to keep it all the way honest: you can’t be the best, and the worst, in the world with one fell swoop. There is no way for someone to want to accept not doing enough just to turn around and say that “they desire it more than their partner”. That is only a cause for confusion and insult. That is like Michael Jordan desiring to be a champion but complaining about going to practice. Thus, you can’t desire greatness with the application of mediocrity.
Then again, Allen Iverson tried that mess back in the day. What happened? He ended up broke and the best thing going on with him is that his shoes have reached “hype beast” methods of selling for the sake of overpriced nostalgia.
How nice is that? Not that nice at all.
Now, I could drag the communication situation out more. I can go through all of the information about how communication is important in relationships. I can also give out statistics on how communication has changed with the new present generation. However, what matters most is this: communication remains the same. And communication remains to be important.
At the end of the day, communication is a basic/complex form of human relation and interaction. It will always be important. So making it seem like it can be ignored, while making yourself look better than you really are, is quite the ineffective practice. Therefore, if you are in a relationship that you have to deal with someone that doesn’t want to communicate, you may need to leave that said non-communicator alone. It makes no sense to not have communication, which the basic representation of a true relationship.
So, be true to you and be true to all healthy relationships by dealing with those that can/will communicate.
‘Nuff Said and ‘Nuff Respect!!!
